These are some of the churches in East Lothian where family events are known to have taken place.

Aberlady
Although the present church dates from 1886, parts of the building go back to the 15th century. Among the family members buried here is Jon's 4xgreat-grandmother Annie PEDEN (1783-1859). Annie married George FORBES in 1803, and some of their 11 children are also buried here.
North Berwick
This part of a ruined church stands within the cemetery in North Berwick. The cemetery is full of interesting gravestones, including several impressive monuments to the WHITECROSS family. Being a sea port, it also has the tombs of shipwrecked seamen.
Stenton
Stenton kirkyard contains both the existing parish church and the ruins of this 16th century one. There is a memorial here to a number of members of the family of Jon's 4xgreat-grandparents, Robert DRYSDALE (1771-1838) and Elspeth LAWRIE (1776-1855). Stenton was home to the last witch trials in Scotland.
