Recently Maurice Robe discovered the grave of a child who was buried all alone in Knaresbrough, her family having moved away after her death. He and I were both touched by this little girl, who lived for only five years - but between us, Maurice and I with the assistance of two other researchers managed to connect her to her family and reconstruct their history from what had previously been fragments. In memory of Mary Martha Whiteoake Daughter of John and Mary Whiteoake of Knaresborough who died November 4th 1863 aged 5 years
