Most known early Whiteoak records are found in Yorkshire, from the seventeenth century onwards. If you want to ask about the Whiteoak family in Skipton and Craven, this is the place.

There have been stray Whiteoaks in Northumbria and other points North for over a hundred years. On the other hand, some Whiteoaks made the long trek South and settled there. If these are your ancestors, find them here.

At the moment I don't know of many Whiteoak events in Wales or Ireland, but please put here any that you know of. The map shows Ireland only in red at the moment, sorry!

In the mid-19th century two brothers from Yorkshire, with their families, made the long journey to Australia. A third brother joined them later. These brothers are the ancestors of many Australian Whiteoaks, though not all.

William Whiteoak and Sally Dodd were the earliest immigrant ancestors of many Canadian Whiteoaks. Some settled in Ontario, and their descendants can still be found there. The Markham area has had a Whiteoak population since the 19th century.

  • No unread posts Whiteoak in the USA
There is some uncertainty about exactly when the Whiteoaks first arrived in the USA. Although most emigration to the USA seems to have happened in the 19th century, there were Whiteoaks here much earlier, even in the 17th. It seems likely that several families arrived there independently, some moving South from Canada.

Not really one of mine! But I have contributed some info on the WHITEOAK family. Anybody can read, or add facts - but some details are patchy, so look out for sources to be surer of proven facts and figures. Different formats are available to view or print - check the buttons.
